Golf Initiation Fees and Annual Costs at Clubs in Massachusetts
Golf initiation fees and annual costs in Massachusetts vary considerably depending on location, exclusivity, amenities, and membership demand. Prestigious private clubs around Boston generally command substantially higher costs than clubs in central or western Massachusetts. Winchester Country Club, for example, may require an initiation fee exceeding $200,000, with annual expenses potentially reaching $20,000. Dedham Country and Polo Club can also command six-figure initiation costs and annual expenses approaching $20,000 or more. These estimates can change considerably because many exclusive clubs do not publicly disclose current membership pricing.
Other prominent Massachusetts clubs fall into a somewhat lower, though still expensive, membership range. Belmont Country Club has been estimated around $95,000 for initiation, with annual costs potentially near $25,000. Charles River Country Club may require approximately $75,000 upfront, while annual dues and related expenses can approach $18,000. Cape Cod National Golf Club can carry an estimated $50,000 to $75,000 initiation fee and annual costs around $15,000 to $20,000. Membership categories, age-based programs, capital contributions, and assessments can significantly affect these figures.
More moderately priced private clubs are available throughout Massachusetts, although membership can still represent a substantial annual expense. Framingham Country Club has been estimated around $29,000 for initiation and approximately $13,000 in annual costs. Tedesco Country Club may require roughly $30,000 upfront, with yearly costs estimated between $5,500 and $10,000. Worcester Country Club can fall around $25,000 to $50,000 for initiation, with annual expenses potentially reaching $15,000 or more. Prospective members should also consider food minimums, capital assessments, cart charges, locker fees, and other expenses beyond regular dues.
